Abstract:
The effect of varied stumping measures on the shooting number and the survival rate of mother plant of
Pinus kesiya var.
langbianensis were researched. It was showed by the results that the number of sprouting shoots was remarkably affected by the remained height after topping, more sprouts could be produced by stumping at 8 cm than stumping at 4 cm above the ground. Moreover, it was showed that the survival rate of the mother plants of
Pinus kesiya var.
langbianensis was also influenced by stumping height, the mother plant survival rate after topping at 8 cm was higher than that of after topping at 4 cm above the ground. To one-year-old scion producing mother plants, the sprouting number and survival rate were influenced by the remained height after stumping.
