Abstract: Compared with national standards for landscaping city construction, the advantages and corresponding problems related to constructing Kunming City as a national landscaping city were analyzed based on the present situation including climate, vegetation, geographic backgrounds, gardening condition, landscaping resources as well as cultural and historical aspects. Some countermeasures for solving the problems were put forward.
