Abstract: A study on current situation of desiccated flower products and related plant resources was carried out by means of investigating into the flower markets in Kunming City, Yunnan Province. The results showed that there were about 100 plant species belonging to 46 families in Kunming area that were utilized for making desiccated flowers. The taxonomical identification of these plants was done, and the analyses were made on the organs or parts of these plant species to be used. Meanwhile, the growing status, the plastic arts, the physical and chemical processing techniques for making of desiccated flower products and potential yield of each species were discussed. The application and development of desiccated flower products in Kunming City were analyzed, some suggestions were proposed towards solving the problems preventing the desiccated flower production from developing rationally.
