Abstract:
It was found out that the quantity of pollens produced by the clonal seed-orchard of
Pinus armandii could not meet the demand of natural pollination at its early fruiting stage. Artificia1 supplementary pollination could effectively increase the fruit setting rate, plumpness of the seeds and thousand-grain weight, especially for the late-blooming clones. It was showed by the experiment that better results could be obtained by applying twice the artificial supplementary pollination both at the initial blooming stage and at the full blooming stage individually.
