Abstract: Supported by RS and GIS technologies and by means of ARCINFO and ERDAS IMAGINE interface, the forest resource database and geographical information system of Zhen'an County, Shaanxi Province were set up through satellite image interpretation, forest plot division and on the site investigation. The spatial distribution of forest resources was analyzed, the forest resource types were classified and the forest resource maps and the thematic maps of forest resources of the county were produced.
