Abstract: The rocky desertification of Karst area in Guizhou Province is developing more and more severely in the past few decades. It was proven that vegetation restoration would be the foundation of ecological environment building in Karst area. There are many difficulties and problems to restore the vegetation on the Karst sites with poor natural conditions in Guizhou Province because of the complex geography, habitat heterogeneity and the lagged economy. The strategies and countermeasures for vegetation restoration in Karst area of Guizhou Province were proposed in the light of local realities, which included natural recovery, the artificial restoration, agro-forestry and other comprehensive approaches.
