Abstract: By means of "county level forest resource management system GIS" and "satellite receiver of global position system GPS",a set of forest tenant right survey method named "heritage land classification survey" was summarized in the reform trial of collective forest tenant right system in Zhenyang Village of Jiuxi Township, Jiangchuan County. It was showed that this survey method was easy to manipulate and happy to learn by the local people. The significant features of this on the spot survey method included saving time and labor,determining the forest land area with a higher precision,avoiding and reducing the unfair distribution of collective forest tenant right in the implementation course of system reform of collective forest tenant right and contradiction induced by the reform. It was proven by the practice that this new survey method would bring about a good effect.
