Abstract: 22 typical plots in Haikou forest farm of Kunming were selected for the investigation on its productivity，community structure，resistance，soil conditions. The forest ecosystem health index （FEHI） model was used for the evaluation on the forest health status. The results showed that different species composition of forest lead different health degree， Pinus armandii forest>Cypress forest>Eucalyptus forest; The health status is different for the same tree species with different forest age, matures forest>nearmature forest>middle aged forest. In the 22 sample plots，11 plots are in sub health, accounting for 500% of the total， 10 plots are in health，accounting for 455% of the total，only one in good health and accounting for 45% of the total， unhealthy and highquality forest are none. In general，forest health status of Haikou forest farm is healthy.
