Abstract:
The performance of wood fiber reinforced high density polyethylene composites (WPC) after experiencing ultraviolet accelerated aging was investigated. The aging mechanism and the effect of different content of NanoZnO on the antiaging properties were studied by SEM and FTIR.The results showed that ultraviolet accelerated aging leads to the composites color changing, which can be better with NanoZnO modification. The bending strength of WPC decreased significantly after aging. The bending strength of blank samples decreased by 19.08% after 1 500 h aging, and by 15.04%,13.60%,13.71%, 12.00%,14.09%,respectively,for the WPCs modified with NanoZnO.SEM analysis showed cracks on the weathered surface of composites, and FTIR analysis indicated oxidation occurring on the surface during aging.
