Abstract: Apple powdery mildew caused huge losses and threatens the safety production of apple seriously. Therefore, carrying out identification of powdery mildew resistance of apple germplasm for breeding resistant varieties has important significance. The paper introduced the pathogen, symptom and occurrence regularity of infection of apple powdery mildew, and then reviewed the presented control technology, resistance studies, and breeding resistance germplasm by biogenetic engineering technique. At last, the paper looks into the prospects.
