Abstract:
In order to realize the efficient cultivation of Taxus chinensis var. mairei, the crown structure characteristics, vertical distribution of branches and growth relationship between branch length and branch diameter of the interplant under the canopy pattern and the pure forest cultivation pattern cultivated 15 years Taxus chinensis var. mairei stands were studied in Mingxi, Fujian. The results showed that cultivation patterns had significant effects on the crown structure Taxus chinensis var. mairei vertical distribution of branches, growth relationship between branch length and branch diameter and stem form changes in crown had significant difference in different cultivation patterns. With the interplant under the canopy pattern, most trees of Tchinensis var. mairei were available to form the absorption ability of sunlight and the higher photosynthetic with wide and long conicalshaped crown. The smaller first lateral branch number and more full stem form in crown were contributed to cultivate lesser and rarer knot full stem. There were the important factors of fastgrowing and excellent timber for the forest regeneration pattern of Tchinensis var. mairei. Cultivation patterns had significant effects on the growth of branch length and branch diameter of Tchinensis var. mairei.
