Abstract:
Using seeds of 16 opening pollinated families of plus tree and control of
Cunninghamia konishii form introduced sites in Fujian Province as materials, the seedling experiment was conducted in Nanping, Fujian. Genetic variation of traits including height, ground diameter, biomass, height-diameter ratio, seedling quality index, root width and the maximum branch diameter of lateral branch of 1-year-old seedlings were studied, the correlation of 7 seedling traits was analyzed and genetic parameters were calculated, and family selection was also carried out. The results showed that there were abundant genetic variations within the
C. konishii form introduced sites, and significant difference among plus tree families. The variations were mainly controlled by genetic materials. The family heritability of those seedlings traits ranged from 0.616 3 to 0.961 1. Correlation between seedling height to ground diameter was no significant, correlation between root width, the maximum branch diameter of lateral branch to those other seedling traits were no significant. Taking seedling quality index as the selection index, 3 excellent families of
C. konishii were preliminarily selected. The average seedling height, ground diameter, biomass, seedling quality index and root width of 3 excellent families were 33.62 cm, 7.19 mm, 9.19 g, 0.202 and 11.95 cm, respectively. The average genetic gain for height, ground diameter, biomass, seedling quality index, root width of excellent families ranged from 5.83%−44.57%, the selection effect was very significant.
