Abstract:
In July 2019, a specimen from Microhylidae(Günther 1858) was collected from Dawei Mountain, Pingbian National Nature Reserve, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. The specimen was small in size(SVL = 16.8 mm), dorsum brick red, with tiny white tubercles on dorsum, flanks and dorsal hindlimbs; dark brown snout-temple region with minimum white patches; first finger reduced to nub or shortened, as consistent to descriptive morphology of
Vietnamophryne orlovi(Nikolay 2018). Molecularly, newly collected specimen clustered with
V. orlovi, with a low genetic distance(K−2−P distance = 0.9 %) by phylogeny stood on 16S rRNA. Additionally, this study firstly suggested '越南姬蛙属' as Chinese common name of genus
Vietnamphryne, while the Chinese common name of
V. orlovi as '奥氏越南姬蛙', yielded to a new genus record in China.
