Abstract:
A new species of Polypodiaceae,
Leptochilus ovatifolius Zhe Zhang, S.W. Yao & Yi Huang from Yangchun City in Guangdong Province was reported. The species was similar to
L. cantoniensis, but can be easily distinguished by its ovate to long ovate sterile fronds with cuneate bases and shorter stipes(0.3–1.4 cm), stipes of fertile fronds(8–14 cm), and its hydathodes usually distinctly sunken on whole surface of laminae. However,
L. cantoniensis has ovate to cordate sterile fronds with base truncate to cordate, longer sterile fronds stipes(1–6.5 cm) and fertile fronds stipes(20–35 cm), hydathodes indistinct on the laminae.
