Abstract:
According to the national standard, the dry shrinkage rate of air-dried(tangential, radial, differential, volume) and oven-dried(tangential, radial, differential, volume) of 6 10-year-old
Eucalyptus clones in Dongmen state-owned forest farm of Guangxi Province were measured. The variation and correlation of dry shrinkage property between different clones and tree height were analyzed. The results showed that there were significant differences in tangential, radial, volume and differential dry shrinkage between air-dried and oven-dried. The variation trend of dry shrinkage was not consistent along the height of trunk, single linear regression analysis showed a positive correlation among dry shrinkage rates and the differential shrinkage of
E. clones was 2–3 grades, which belonged to the moderate dry shrinkage species. The difference of dry shrinkage between air-dried and oven-dried clones of No. 14 was minimal, and it can be cultivated as high-quality solid wood for furniture. The dry shrinkage properties of
E. clones were significantly different.
