Abstract:
Using
Lilium Asiatic hybrids seedlings as experimental materials, the effect of trehalose (0, 10, 15, 25, 35 mmol/L) on the growth of
L. Asiatic hybrids seedlings was studied by spraying the leaves and then subjecting them under 4 ℃ low temperature. The research results indicated that spraying appropriate concentrations of trehalose on the leaves promoted seedling growth under low temperature. Treatment with 15 mmol/L trehalose can increase the dry and fresh qualities of the aboveground and underground parts. The fresh qualities of plant increased by 41.86% and the net growth rate of plant height increased by 1.43 times. Trehalose treatment enhanced chlorophyll and carotenoid in leaves, reduced the degradation of total chlorophyll in photosynthetic pigments by 57.34%, and supported the seedling growth as well as the accumulation of plant biomass. It can enhance the content of 25.50% soluble protein, 48.19% soluble sugar, proline, and the activity of antioxidant enzymes POD, SOD, CAT, and APX in the leaves, reduce the content of H
2O
2, O
2−, and MDA, promote the accumulation of osmoregulatory substances, thereby improving the cold resistance and alleviating the damage of low temperature stress to
L. Asiatic hybrids seedlings to a certain extent.
