Abstract:
Fertilization is generally one of the most important measures to promote the growth, yield and quality of forest. A random block fertilization experiment was conducted to study the effect of fertilizers on fruiting of the young Jatropha curcas plantations. The results showed that the single nitrogen fertilizer did not have much effect on the fruiting, while the pure phosphorus or pure potassium fertilizer could significantly promote the seed yield of the young J. curcas plantations. With fixed dosages of nitrogen and potassium fertilizers, when the dosage of phosphorous fertilizer was over a certain level, it did not have significant promotion effect on fruit production. The study also indicated that the fertilization did not have obvious effect on increasing the kernel or oil yield of the fruits born by the young plantations of J. curcas.
