Abstract:
The karyotypes of Allium wallichii and A.mairei from Mount Liangwang were comparatively analyzed. The results showed that population No.1 of A. wallichii was diploid, whose karyotype formula was 2n=2x=14=10m(2SAT)+4sm. Population No.2 of A. wallichii was tetraploid, whose karyotype formula was 2n=4x=28=18sm(2SAT)+10m. Both of the populations No.1 and No.2 of A. mairei was diploid, whose karyotype formulae was 2n=2x=16=14m+2sm (2SAT), there was no ploidy happened. It was concluded that A. wallichii had close genetic relationship with A. mairei at the chromosome level, and A. wallichii might be an advanced group in the development process compared to A. mairei.
