Abstract:
The properties of particle board made of Ricinus communis stalk and manufactured by 100 different manufacturing technologies were comparatively studied by multiple factor and multiple level methods in order to screen out the optimal technology parameters. The comprehensive properties of the board were determined by the Principal Component Analysis. With consideration of productivity, cost and stability of the R. communis stalk particle board products, the optimum manufacturing technology was selected with following parameters: the hot-press temperature was 150 ℃; the hot-press time was 30s/mm; the UF added was 12%; and the hot pressure was 3.5MPa. The properties of the R. communis stalk particle board could reach or exceed the requirement of PRC standards for particle board products expect to the thickness swelling index.
