By taking advantages of the plentiful sunshine and appropriate temperature, by means of developing fruit and nut industries and planting trees in large scales through motivating the power of the whole society, and rationally regulating the planting structure and industrial structure, Akesu, the border city beyond north of the Great Wall as an oasis, has been turned into a National Forest City full of fragrance of fruits and melons with beautiful landscape under severe environmental conditions characterized by drought, severe winter, salinealkali soil and sand storm. It is an inspiring example for cities with similar poor conditions to build National Forest City in China.
