Abstract:
A comparative study was conducted on the natural conditions and the building effect of the Bitahai Nature Reserve and the Jiaozishan Nature Reserve, a pair of nature reserves built at the same time based on the similar foundation but developed in different approaches. The results showed that the Bitahai Nature Reserve developed well and was well conserved after having been integrated with Pudacuo National Park management regime. However, the Jiaozishan Nature Reserve remained in an awkward economic status being short of selfsupport capacity because it had been managed by the traditional management regime for the regular nature reserves. Due to choosing a different mode of management, there were great differences in the protection and development effects of the two protected areas. It was showed that the management regime for National Park would be an approach with bright development prospect, and it would be an useful supplement to the management model to nature reserves with great extension value.
