Abstract:
Some plant combination communities with better living sewage purification effect were selected by laboratory simulation with different plant species. Four groups of plant combination and a control group without any plants were designed in the experiment, and the concentration values of COD, total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen and total phosphorus in the treated sewage samples were periodically determined. The experiment showed that the best purification results were obtained by the Community Type 1 and the removal efficiency for COD, total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen and total phosphorus efficiency was 75.0%, 97.3%, 90.0% and 84.2% individually. Whereas the worst purification effect was resulted from the control group, whose removal efficiency for COD, total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen and total phosphorus was 32.5%, 23.8%, 38.3% and 26.4% respectively. The purification capacity of the five treatment communities was ranked in the declining order as Community 1 > Community 2 > Community 4 > Community 3 > Control.
