Abstract:
The LPAAT gene of Ricinus communis plays an important role in synthesizing and regulating the fatty acid (triacylglycerols, TAG). In order to study the diversity of LPAAT gene in R. communis, the LPAAT sequencing of the R. communis germplasm collected from 32 different areas was conducted by referring the LPAAT gene sequencing primers of R. communis in the GenBank, and a genomic sequence with 804bp was obtained. The results from the diversity analyses showed that there were 2 SNPs and 3 InDels among the 804bp sequence, the SNP frequency was 1/161bp, and the nucleotide diversity index (Pi) was 0.00067. There were 1 SNP and 2 InDels located at exon, two of them were nonsense mutations; the other one was missense mutation. The results showed that the exon 10 of LPAAT gene was related to the oil content of R. communis.
