Abstract:
Based on the CBERS-02 data collected in the summer and winter seasons being integrated with field survey data, the spatial distribution and area information of Carya cathayensis in Lin′an Municipality, Zhejiang Province were extracted by means of the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) combined with supervised classification methods. It was showed that the total area of C. cathayensis plantation area in Lin′an was 311 million hm2, the overall extraction precision was 8371%. Compared with statistical data, the precision error was 13%. The results showed that extracting C. cathayensis plantation area information was feasible by remote sensingbased dynamic monitoring with the characteristic differences between the winter and summer images.
