Abstract:
Free formaldehyde and TVOC emission from 2 types of commonly consumed laminated floorings for indoor decoration were determined by means of 1 m3 smallscale environmental chamber for VOC release, spectrophotometer, and gas chromatographymass spectrometry (GC-MS) for qualitative and quantitative analyses. The results showed that the concentrations of free formaldehyde and TVOC emitted from different brands of laminated floorings varied greatly, and the concentration of free formaldehyde was generally higher than that of the TVOC. The concentrations of free formaldehyde and TVOC would be stable after having emitted for a period of time, but prolonging the placement duration could not drop continuously the emission of the free formaldehyde and TVOC.
