Abstract:
In Guangxi Qinlian Forest Farm, we selected sixyear old Eucalyptus cloeziana from 9 provenances as material, analyzed the wood mechanical property. The result showed that differences of compressive strength parallel to grain, bending strength, modulus of elasticity and shear strength were significant among different provenances. The mean value of these four mechanical indexes were 60272MPa, 127920MPa, 10667GPa and 736987kN, respectively, and all of them reached medium and high level Tree height, diameter at breast height showed moderateintensity negative correlations with four mechanical indexes, but they were not significant. The broadsense heritability of four mechanical indexes was 072, 079, 072 and 047, respectively. Comprehensive quality factor of wood was 1108451×105Pa, which belonged to high class wood. Wood of Eucalyptus cloeziana could be used as timber of bearing structure and medium and high class furniture. Therefore, developing and using wood of Eucalyptus cloeziana as structural timber has practical significance.
