Abstract:
In this paper, the bending creep behavior of Plectocomia pierreana and Calamus manan were studied. The results showed that the creep deformation of two kinds of rattan cane increased significantly with the increase of stress as the stresses were 30%, 50% and 70% of the bending failure loads, respectively. The deformation increased by that of stress level were disproportional. The creep behaviors of P pierreana and C manan were nonlinear. In addition to the instantaneous elastic deformation of C manan was significantly larger than that of the Ppierreana, the species of rattan was a remarkable effect on creep behaviors.
