Abstract:
This paper reviews the history of systematic taxonomy and some related branches of Flacour-tiaceae and looks forward to the future research.Relationship among tribes or genera of Flacour-tiaceae in China is discussed based on characteristics of macromorphology, xylem anatomy, leaf architecture, stomatal apparatus micromorphology, pollen morphology.According to the above analyses and the synthetical classification,Pangieae is suggested to be the most primitive tribe of Flacourtiaceae in China.Specimens of Flacourtiaceae in most large herbaria of China are examined and cited.6 tribes,12 genera,45 species,6 varieties including their research history, morphological characteristics and distributed areas are recorded, among which,2 new species are included;they are
Idesia fujianensis G.S.Fan.sp.nov.and
Bennettiodendron simaoense G.S.Fan Sp.nov..Moreover a new record species:
Casearia flavovirens Blume is found;2 scientific names are reduced,i.e.
Bennettiodendron shangsiense X.X.Chun et J.Y.Luo should be combined with
Bennettiodendron brevipes Merr,and
Casearia aequilateralis Merr.is examined to be a synonym of
Casearia membranacea Hance.Strict definition of
Hydnocarpus is discussed in detail. The author finds that evidences of xylem anatomy, leaf architecture, stomatal apparatus micromorphology, pollen morphology, phytochemistry support the generic name Hydnocarpus in broad sense, while
Taraktogenos and
Hydnocarpus are more reasonably reduced to subgenera under Hydnocarpus sensu lato.Based on their represented species, characteristics of xylem anatomy, leaf architecture, stomatal apparatus micromorphology of 12 flacourtiaceous genera and the family itself in China are recorded.Significance of the above three branches in systematic taxonomy of Flacourtiaceae from China are discussed, which play important roles in analyzing relationship and systematics of Flacourtiaceae in many respects and also approves to the establishment of tribe Poliothyrsieae.
